Contested & Uncontested Divorce
Handling legal problems alone in any area is a daunting and stressful task. After nearly two decades of experience as a divorce lawyer, I know what you'll have to do in both contested and uncontested divorces. In addition to serving clients throughout the Florida Panhandle, I also assist service members in the area of military divorce. Many clients come to me because of my military background, having served in Vietnam as a Marine Corps Sergeant.
Uncontested
An uncontested divorce is a divorce where both parties agree on the major issues and can settle the case through a marital settlement agreement — it's quick and easy.
Contested
Conversely, a contested divorce usually involves child custody disputes and other issues that are usually more difficult to resolve. In these situations, I negotiate on behalf of my clients with their interests in mind to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
Even in contested divorces, I try to get the case settled through a marital settlement agreement so that way my clients do not have to go to court and can minimize their legal expenses.
